Bonus Question: In I Time 2:6 Paul says that Jeus gave his life as a ransom for many. (Matt 20:28) – literally, the ransom-money (price) to free a slave. 3083 (lýtron) is used in the NT of the ultimate “liberty-price” – the blood of Christ which purchases (ransoms) believers, freeing them from all slavery (bondage) to sin. 

            Rom 3:24 (8:23; 1 Cor 1:30; Eph 1:7,14, 4:30, Col 1:14, Heb 9:15 11:35) uses the word redemption, concerning us as Christian, which means apolutrósis: a release effected by payment of ransom. apolýtrōsis(from 575 /apó, “from” and 3084 /lytróō, “redeem”) – properly, redemption – literally, “buying back from, re-purchasing (winning back) what was previously forfeited (lost).”

IF the ransom price for our redemption was paid for by the blood of Christ on the cross, and that Christ by his resurrection having the power and authority over death and the grave, explain why the captives in Hades were not set free in AD 33?
